Professor Dr. Thomas Bruha
Professor Dr. Thomas Bruha, born in 1945, teaches public law at the University of Hamburg since 1993, with the focus on international law and European law. He is a director at the University's Institute for International Affairs and at the Institute for Integration Research of the Europa-Kolleg in Hamburg. Prior to this position, he worked on research projects commissioned by the Liechtenstein Government and acted as their adviser in international law. In this capacity, he in particular participated in the Principality's negotiations with the other EFTA-States and the European Union concerning the European Economic Area and the related adjustments in the treaties between Liechtenstein and Switzerland.

The main emphasis of Professor Dr. Bruha's scientific work is on questions of general international law and United Nations law, EC constitutional and foreign trade law, and European and international environmental law. Professor Dr. Bruha also acts as a political adviser in these fields, for example as Vice-Chairman of the United Nations Association of Germany and as a member of the European Council for Environmental Law. He is co-editor of the renowned magazine "Archiv des Völkerrechts" and of several scientific series, and author of numerous publications on the topic of constitutional, international and European law.
